Online Video Lessons

- If travelling isn't an option, try a lesson over video call

Guitar lessons by video call

Online lessons are a great way to learn guitar and bass from the comfort of your own home. Initally I moved online when the covid pandemic hit but with how well it worked, I continued to do the lessons online. They save travel time and costs for both you and I and it also makes rearranging lessons a lot easier if needed. All you need is a computer / laptop with a camera and microphone or a smart phone and the lessons can begin! All of my music for the lessons are written out and saved in a PDF format which I can send prior to the lesson. You can then have this open as a reference whilst we go through it all.

Having been teaching online for the last 3 years I have found Skype to be the best app to do the online lessons. However I also have Zoom, Facetime and WhatsApp if Skype isn't an option for you. The reason I prefer Skype is becasuse the connection is always stable and the quality of the video and audio is always really good.

I have been teaching in schools, colleges and privately all around Bristol and the South West for over 20 years, giving tuition to people of all ages and abilities from beginner through to intermediate and advanced players. I will tailor your lessons based on your ability and the goals you would like to achieve. This includes learning your favourite songs and riffs, techniques, scales and much more. I can also teach grades if that is what you would like to do and can go in to a lot of detail with music theory (whilst keeping it fun). So if you’re looking to learn the guitar, want to brush off the dust of the guitar you used to play a lot or take your playing to the next level, please give me an e-mail or call to have a chat and find out more.

Lesson Times

All of my lessons are offered on a one to one basis and are either 15 minute, 30 minutes or 60 minutes long. If you are playing guitar for the first time then our first lesson will involve getting to know what music you like to listen to and what your goals are. I will also ask for this information prior to the lesson so I can plan some music for you to learn to get you on track towards your goals.

Lesson Plan

Every lesson starts with going over what we did during the last lesson to make sure everything has been understood and practiced. From there we can move on and continue learning more music! Please read my blog on practicing to get ideas on how to structure your practice and get the most out of the time you have to play. I write all of our lessons in tablature (Tab) and send them over in a PDF format. I've written a blog on reading tab with a downloadable PDF to keep as reference.
